The obvious disadvantage of nuclear energy is the difficulty in nuclear waste disposal. If you look at our Map of World Nuclear Reactors you have to wonder, wow, with all that fusion going on, where in the hell are all the spent fuel rods going to go? Are they all sitting in cooling containers just “waiting for some place to go”?
The cooling of nuclear power plants and fuel rods have a huge impact on the ecosystem through water heating and contamination. What happened to all the radiation that went into the ocean water during the Fukushima nuclear disaster?
